On Thursday, August 8, 2024, the second online session organized by the Local Conference of Youth on Climate in Yemen (LCOY Yemen) was held via Zoom, under the title "The Imminent Threat to Biodiversity in Yemen as a Result of Climate Impacts and Wrong Behaviors." The session was attended by more than 60 participants, including environmental activists and those interested in the environment and climate change in Yemen.

The second session included discussions and the exchange of ideas and opinions on the threats facing Yemen's unique biodiversity and ways to protect it from the dangers resulting from climate change and the wrong human behaviors towards the environment.

This session included breakout sessions where participants were divided into groups to discuss a number of issues, including measures to raise awareness among Yemeni youth about the importance of preserving the marine environment, as well as the most important challenges facing Yemeni islands, which are famous for their biodiversity, and sharing suggestions and solutions to protect biodiversity in these islands. In addition, the impact of the erosion of green spaces and the misuse of resources such as vegetation in natural reserves was discussed, along with the measures that should be taken to protect natural reserves and their vegetation and increase green spaces.
